Laughter

|

Perched upon the stool I remember me

Tender hearted and willing to smile

Hidden from imposed cruelty

Tasting the sweetness as I inhale

Surreptitious chatter surrounds the table

Sadness flees from my paused heart

Strengthened woman, weakened child

A vacant finger turned green

Entrancing mouth of fire

Without hesitation it all escapes
